The Legacy That Inspired Hans Jewelry

Hans Jewelry is more than a brand — it’s a promise, a tribute, and a story of resilience. Inspired by generations of women who built their lives through entrepreneurship for the love of their families, each piece reflects love, strength, and the beauty of cherished moments.

The story continues through her

Founder

My name is Han Li, the founder of Hans Jewelry. This brand began with my grandmother, Ms. Guo Lindi — a woman whose strength carried our family through hardship and whose quiet resilience shaped who I am.

Pearls were her most cherished symbol: simple, understated, yet filled with depth. Through Hans Jewelry, I honor her legacy by creating pieces that carry meaning, memory, and the quiet elegance she embodied.

Hans Jewelry is my tribute to her — to the woman who raised me, protected me, and taught me what love, strength, and beauty truly mean.

Every piece begins with her.

A Legacy Passed Forward

The Next Generation

The legacy behind Hans Jewelry continues into the next generation through Annie Xiang, my daughter, who grew up surrounded by the stories and strength of the women before her. Today, she plays an integral role in guiding and operating the business with the same dedication, warmth, and resilience that inspired its beginning.

Through Annie, the legacy evolves — from memory into purpose, from a family inheritance into a shared mission, and from one woman’s courage into a lineage of women building for those they love.

THE WOMAN WHO INSPIRED IT ALL

Beginnings

Ms. Guo Lindi was born in Shanghai in 1910 into a family practicing traditional Chinese medicine. Unlike most girls of her time, she was fortunate — her parents chose education over tradition, allowing her to attend school and engage with society.

At 18, she married a police officer, and together they raised eight children. Their love was unwavering, but life had other plans.

Tragedy struck when my grandfather fell ill and passed away, leaving my grandmother a widow at just 38 years old. With eight children and no financial support, she refused to give up.

She rented out rooms in their home, sold handmade crafts, and, when necessary, parted with her precious jewelry to make ends meet. Some urged her to remarry to ease the burden, but she stood firm:

“I can support my family on my own.”

Her resilience and self-reliance became the foundation of our family.

THE SYMBOL OF PEARLS & HEARTFELT MEMORY

Remembrance

Growing up, I spent sixteen years by my grandmother’s side. She always wore a gold ring — a gift from my grandfather — and carried the faint scent of osmanthus, a fragrance I still associate with warmth and security. One day, I wanted to buy her a piece of jewelry. She hesitated but eventually admitted:

“I like pearl necklaces.”

At the time, pearls were a luxury, and the one she loved cost 76 yuan — nearly a month’s salary for most workers. She refused to let me spend that much and instead chose a pair of pearl earrings for 26 yuan. On the way home, she kept stroking the earrings, admiring her reflection in the window — as joyful as a child. She then told me something I’ll never forget:

“I once had a pearl necklace. It was part of my dowry. But I sold it when your grandfather was ill.”

I regretted not insisting on buying her the necklace. She must have sensed it because she gently held my hand and said,

“You can give me a better pearl necklace next time.

A LEGACY THAT LIVES ON

Everlasting

Though I never had the chance to give my grandmother the pearl necklace she dreamed of, her spirit lives on in every piece we create. Hans Jewelry was born from that unfulfilled promise — a promise to honor her strength, her love, and the generations of women who shaped who I am.

Today, that promise guides how we select, craft, and finish every piece. Through each pearl, we honor the past while creating something meaningful for our customers: jewelry that carries memory, celebrates resilience, and becomes part of the stories yet to unfold.
